How do I start the Cryoport Systems order process?
Starting your shipment with Cryoport Systems is simple. First, request a quote and complete our order form. Once payment is received, a dedicated Cryoport Systems client care representative will guide you through the process, coordinating every detail to ensure a seamless experience. We will ship a fully prepared, pre-labeled dry shipper directly to your clinic, ready for use. Your clinic will carefully load the reproductive materials, and from there, either the clinic or Cryoport Systems can arrange for secure transportation.
Will my clinic receive a fully charged dry shipper?
Yes. When we send the Cryoport Express® dry shipper, it is pre-charged with dry vapor liquid nitrogen, ensuring it maintains the necessary cryogenic temperature for the duration of the shipment. Your clinic will receive it fully prepared and ready for immediate use.
How cold is the dry shipper? What temperature does it maintain?
Cryogenic preservation requires temperatures below -150°C. Our liquid nitrogen-based dry shipper maintains a stable temperature well below this threshold. Unlike traditional liquid nitrogen containers, our dry vapor technology absorbs the liquid, preventing spills while maintaining the integrity of your reproductive materials.
How long can the Cryoport Express® shipper maintain cryogenic conditions?
The Cryoport Express® liquid nitrogen dry shipper is designed with an extended holding time of up to 10 days. This allows flexibility in case of unexpected shipping delays, offering added security for both domestic and international shipments.
Who is responsible for communicating with the clinics?
As the patient, you are responsible for notifying both your shipping and receiving clinics about your transport plans and ensuring all required documentation is completed. Cryoport Systems will coordinate shipment scheduling with both clinics, ensuring all logistics are properly arranged. As always, we are here to help you thorough this process, and you can reach our team at ivf@cryoport.com at any time with questions along the way.
Does Cryoport Systems work with carriers that specialize in transporting embryos, sperm, and eggs?
Yes. Cryoport Systems has longstanding relationships with trusted carriers who specialize in the secure transport of reproductive materials, ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance throughout the journey.
How is my shipment monitored during transit?
Every shipment is tracked in near real time through Cryoport Systems’ advanced logistics management platform, which is fully integrated with our carrier partners. Our proprietary condition monitoring system continuously records location and temperature data, ensuring your materials remain protected throughout their journey. Our expert team monitors every shipment 24/7/365 and can intervene if any disruptions occur.
Who handles the required paperwork?
Our team will guide you through the documentation process, providing the necessary transportation forms, shipping labels, and any additional paperwork required for your specific shipment. If customs documentation is needed for international shipping, we will assist in preparing the correct forms and ensuring they accompany the shipment.
Does Cryoport Systems support international shipments?
Yes. Cryoport Systems has successfully shipped reproductive materials to more than 150 countries! However, before scheduling an international shipment, it’s essential to confirm that your receiving clinic is authorized to accept reproductive materials under local and federal regulations.
Are international shipments subject to duties, taxes, or regulatory requirements?
Yes. Duties, taxes, and specific import regulations vary by country. Additional documentation may be required to clear customs. Cryoport Systems provides guidance on required forms and compliance considerations to help facilitate a smooth delivery.
Does Cryoport Systems offer insurance for shipments?
For added peace of mind, Cryoport Systems offers a range of insurance options to cover the transportation of your embryos, sperm, and eggs. Our team can help you explore available coverage options to best suit your needs.
