Despite any fears, security throughout the transport journey doesn’t need to feel left up to chance.

From initial packaging and pickup to last mile delivery monitored across the entire journey, we provide consistency and safety throughout every reproductive material shipment.

Delivering Transport Excellence to Your Clinic’s Door

Cryoport Systems utilizes our Cryoport Express® Shipping Systems for reproductive material shipments. This line encompasses liquid nitrogen dry vapor units that are trusted to maintain housed materials at a minimum holding temperature of -150°C for up to 10 days. For those who are needing their materials transported from an existing clinic to a new clinic, the transport journey begins with our service professionals readying a Cryoport Express® Shipping System for delivery to your existing clinic.

The process of preparing a Shipping System includes the assembly of all the components and order materials into a bill of materials (BOM). The BOM is included in the shipment and clearly contains all Shipping System handling instructions, the requirements for loading and unloading your precious materials, and any order details specified by the client. Cryoport Systems then works with a courier service to transport the Shipping System to your existing clinic’s door. From there, your clinical professionals will reference the BOM to compliantly load your materials into the Cryoport Express® Shipping System.

This process of preparation takes a step-by-step approach to negate any confusion on how our Shipping Systems are to be handled by clinical professionals. The exterior of the Shipping System includes special labels that designate the shipment as containing temperature-sensitive materials.  With clear instructions and evident labeling of the precious cargo housed inside, your shipment is packaged with care and certainty for the journey ahead.

Last Mile Certainty with the Cryoshuttle®

Once your precious materials are packaged safely inside a Shipping System, the transport process begins. Cross-country or international shipments mostly utilize a previously scheduled courier service to pick up the shipment directly from the clinic. For shipments within a local radius of our serviced cities, Cryoport Systems offers a personalized approach to last mile delivery with our Cryoshuttle® service.

The Cryoshuttle® service is a fleet of specially designed vans manned by experienced drivers who facilitate transport pickup from your clinic on your designated schedule. This team of trained drivers is prepped to deliver sensitive reproductive materials according to clinic processes and industry compliance standards. Each Cryoshuttle® is equipped with GPS-tracked video surveillance, state-of-the-art routing software for the most optimal and efficient routes, and the ability to monitor driver motions and exterior conditions to minimize risk, shock, and orientation upsets. Our Cryoshuttle® service offers peace of mind for local transport that other courier services aren’t able to provide. Your materials in the care of the Cryoshuttle® are backed by enhanced safety features that document the journey of your precious cargo to ensure it reaches your new clinic or local secure storage center with vitality intact.

Insightful Monitoring Across the Entire Journey

No matter if your materials are being transported via aircraft, freight, or Cryoshuttle®, certainty is never at risk with our insightful monitoring capabilities. Each Shipping System is outfitted with the Smartpak® – Cryoport Systems’ state-of-the-art condition monitoring system. The Smartpak® gathers near real-time data about a shipment’s internal and external temperature, orientation and tilt, location, and other metrics starting when a Shipping System is packaged and extending through to its final destination. This 24/7/365 recorded data can be used by clinical professionals to check that your materials stay in perfect condition even before they reach your new clinic or facility center.

The information gleaned from the Smartpak® is showcased in near-real time in our custom-built platform, the Cryoportal®. The Cryoportal® logistics management system is accessible to clinical professionals and extensively monitored around the clock by our team of experts. If a problem with your shipment does arise at any point in its journey, the Cryoportal® sends an alert to our team members. Our team will then contact the courier or interceded directly to mitigate the risk to your materials. Direct communication is key in the event of these situations. Cryoport Systems will contact the receiving clinic or facility right away to fill them in on the situation. Clinical technicians greatly appreciate our approach to transparency because they never have to question the integrity of a client’s materials once received. They have access to all documentation to verify that materials maintained their temperature and other specific metrics to ensure vitality. This risk mitigating process is unique to Cryoport Systems and is the only monitoring solution in the industry to provide total peace of mind through recorded documentation to prospective parents and clinics.
